5 Farmers Markets to Visit this Fall

For Southwest Florida residents, heading to a farmers market or green market can be the best way to find organic, ethically-sourced produce and meat. With the harvest season kicking off, now is the perfect time to support local farmers and artists by checking out these five farmers markets around the community.

Bonita Springs Farmers Market (open through April 29)

Open Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Promenade at Bonita Bay

The Bonita Springs Farmers Market is the Saturday market location for Local Roots, operator of seven of the largest farmers markets in Lee County. The outdoor market is located in the west side of The Promenade Shopping Center parking lot and offers fresh fruit, vegetables, cut flowers, plants, baked goods, seafood, honey, jams, and other artisanal goods. Visitors can also enjoy a wide variety of prepared foods and drinks for breakfast and lunch while they support local vendors.


Coconut Point Green Market (open through April 27, closed on Thanksgiving)

Open Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Coconut Point Mall

The Coconut Point Green Market – Local Roots’ Thursday morning market – is located in the Panera Bread parking lot at Coconut Point Mall. Local vendors offer market staples including fresh produce, seafood, locally raised meat, locally harvested honey, baked goods, and more. There is also a wide assortment of artisan gifts, such as handmade soaps and candles and hand-woven baskets and hats.


The City of Marco Island Farmers Market (opens Nov. 16 through April 26)

Open Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Veterans Community Park

A long-time local favorite, The Marco Island Farmers Market has over 75 vendors during their November-to-April season. The market offers a wide selection of produce, flowers, artisan jewelry and gifts, and made-to-order food. From local authors promoting their books to a bow knife stand, paella to pottery, and crepes to kettle corn, the Marco Island Farmers Market has something for everyone.

Open Saturdays, 7:30-11:30 a.m. at Third Street South

Open every Saturday morning throughout the year, the Third Street South Farmers Market is a Naples institution. Over 60 local vendors set up shop in the parking lot behind Tommy Bahama’s to sell their wares, including fresh produce, organic meat, locally caught seafood, flowers, artisan chocolate, and more. The market boasts gluten-free and paleo options, as well as a taste of many different cultures – Greek, German, Argentinian, and French, just to name a few.


Pine Ridge Road Farmers Market

Open Sundays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Marquesa Plaza

The Pine Ridge Road Farmers Market is one of three outdoor markets hosted by Naples Marketplace. Located at the corner of Pine Ridge Road and Livingston Road in Naples, this market offers a variety of fresh organic produce, fresh-cut flowers, plants, breads, baked goods, seafood, pickles, jams, handmade jewelry and more. There are also plenty of prepared foods to eat while you shop for homemade bath and beauty products, home goods and artisan wares.
