The Drowsy Chaperone. Winner of 5 Tony Awards, this delightful musical confection begins when a die-hard musical fanatic tries to ease his blues by playing his favorite 1920’s cast album of The Drowsy Chaperone. The show soon bursts to life in his living room telling the story of a Broadway starlet who wants to leave it all behind for love. The show-within-a-show is complete with comic vaudeville gangsters, mistaken identities, rousing anthems, dream sequences and whole lot of spit-takes resulting in a riotous parody of 1920’s screwball comedy. All theatre lovers are sure to be taken with this charming tribute to the musical genre. Where: Blackburn Hall, Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South, Naples.
