Tell us about your community involvement.
I'll pitch in for any good cause that asks. Over the years, that list has come to include more than 30 charities including St. Matthew's House, Bosom Buddies, Special Olympics, David Lawrence Center, Big Brothers, Make A Wish, and Relay for Life. Call me so I can add yours to the list!
Do you have some special achievements you would like to share?
One my favorite honors was getting the Peace Award from a domestic violence group for my reporting on the issue. But my most meaningful achievement came in a handwritten note from my mom two weeks before she passed. I was working as a reluctant weatherman at the time. She wrote "I'm proud of you 'weather' you like it or not."
What makes you unique?
Unpredictable sense of humor (I didn't even know I was going to write that. See?) Surprising ability to speak third grade level Spanish. And a shocking lack of shame about my inappropriate hairstyles and clashing shirt-tie combinations.
What would your hero super power be, and why?
To be able to de-stress people instantly (and mute them in some cases) OR capture the Skunk Ape (which could de-stress people in Ochopee)
Sum up your personal style in three words.
Uncool, Uncalm, Uncollected.
