The Great Venetian Duck Race

Location: The Village on Venetian Bay
Description: On February 27th, 2010 The Lutgert Companies and the Children’s Museum of Naples will team to race 10,000 rubber ducks in Venetian Bay. Launching from the Village on Venetian Bay, the ducks will be sold for $10 each and each duck has the opportunity to win fabulous prizes!

Princess Diana: Dresses of Inspiration

Details: Many of the dresses in the exhibition were purchased at the Christie’s auction Diana held just weeks before her untimely death. At least two of the dresses and some of the memorabilia have never been exhibited in the United States, including a Klondike dress Diana wore on a State Visit to Canada with Prince Charles and Diana’s entire signed Christmas card collection of cards she sent. The dresses include a cocktail dress owned by People magazine and four dresses owned by WE TV, all of which are rarely shown in public. The exhibition also includes signed photographs, gifts Diana gave and memorabilia from other Royals including Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother and Prince Charles.  The exhibition kicks off on March 10 with a black tie gala.

 

Naples Music Festival to benefit the Garden of Hope & Courage

Cinderella’s Closet

Details: This event is a collaboration of the YMCA of the Palms and the Children’s Advocacy Center, two charities in the Greater Naples community. The “Fairy Godmothers” to Cinderella’s Closet are Trustees from the Naples Winter Wine Festival, all names you would recognize, though they wish to remain anonymous.  Hundreds of pieces of donated upscale, new, barely used, off the rack to couture items donated, primarily for women ranging from shoes, to accessories, dresses, pants, blouses, skirts, everything.  New hand bags and other expensive items for auction at the preview VIP event.  March 23 will be the VIP preview/private shopping event in the evening with drinks and appetizers hosted by Absinthe and March 25 the Closet will be open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.  Pre-events building up to the main event encourage donations in shop and share formats at some Waterside Shops.

22nd Annual Downtown Naples Festival of the Arts

Location: Fifth Ave. South shopping and dining district, Naples
Details: The upscale Fifth Ave. South shopping and dining district is the site for the 22nd annual Downtown Naples Festival of the Arts. The juried festival features 250 fine local, regional and national artists working in all media. Fifth Avenue South will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event. This festival is jointly hosted by the Naples Art Association at The von Liebig Art Center and the Downtown Naples Association.
