Mark Danni, 2013 Super Man

From Buffalo, New York, to the Great White Way to Naples, the founding artistic director of TheatreZone and head of the drama program at the Community School of Naples is an accomplished musician, conductor and director. When he is not working on dramas, comedies and musicals with renowned theater veterans and TV stars, he flies in for his seasonal productions to wow us, and works with young people. “I feel its important to share your knowledge and expertise with the younger generation, which is why I work closely with hundreds of grade school, high school and college students, helping them to gain the experience, confidence and self-esteem needed to achieve success in their future careers,” he says.

“If I could have a super power, it would be to transport myself instantly—‘Beam me up, Scotty’—so I could be in all my favorite places in the same day.”

Motto: “Just put one foot in front of the other and keep on going.”

Why he chose Naples: “Naples actually found ME a decade ago while I was on tour here. I was offered a wonderful opportunity to create a theater company and do what I love every day. I feel extremely fortunate for my wife and I to be able to raise our three children in such a beautiful city, which also appreciates and supports the arts!”

“Super” spots in Naples: “I love hanging out at Brio and The Real McCaw. But you will often find us at Bokampers Sports Bar & Grill because they are open after our shows and rehearsals.”

Little-known fact: “I played high school football for four years, and my team won a championship game against [former NFL star] Daryl Johnson’s squad.”
