Jazz aficionados, get ready for a whirlwind of sound, starting with traditional New Orleans jazz and swing, to bebop, soul and avant-garde when the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra performs the “Complete History of Jazz in 75 Minutes” on June 11, at 6 and 8:30 p.m. at Artis—Naples’ Daniels Pavilion.
Wrapping this Artis—Naples’ All That Jazz series, concertgoers will go on a musical journey from New Orleans’ Congo Square to the Blue Note in New York City, sampling the sounds of jazz greats like Louis Armstong, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, Lester Young and Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Chet Baker, Miles Davis and more, and all in just 75 minutes.
