“I absolutely loooove The Plaza.” Those are the words of the adored fictional character Eloise, and who can argue? Now, there is another reason to loooove The Plaza: the new Eloise Suite by Betsey Johnson, which opened yesterday with all the requisite thrills and frills.
The suite is located—where else?—on the 18th floor, and is so charming that any “city child” would love it. The decor is adorable and girly in a palette of pink and black, with a signature Plaza chandelier fitted with pink bulbs. Wall panels are done in pink and white candy stripes with gold leaf molding, providing a fun contrast to the black and white zebra-print carpet. Flower prints abound, naturally. It is, as Johnson says, “so pink, so fun … neon, and stripes, and flowers, and yipes!!! … petticoats, princess crowns, and even pink chandeliers!”
Any little girl (and probably a few big girls) will feel right at home here, and will probably be inspired to explore “on any floor, at any time” or take tea the way Eloise would. There is an actual Eloise Tea at the Palm Court, with cupcakes, organic PBJs, and cookies in Eloise’s likeness. It’s absolutely perfect, for Lord’s sake!
The rates for the Eloise Suite start at $995, and include some fun amenities like an Eloise bathrobe, framed photo of the young Plaza guest in her suite, and more.

Pink and white candy stripes, zebra patterns and an explosion of flowers—what could be funner?
