DESCRIPTION:Everglades Wonder Gardens’ upcoming Flamingle Friday will feature an inspiring lecture by Jennifer Hecker on wildlife protection and water quality efforts. The program\, scheduled for 5-7 p.m.\, Friday\, March 6\, will include a meet and greet\, complete with a chocolate and champagne sampling\, followed by the water and wildlife presentation. \nJennifer Hecker is executive director of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership\, which works to restore and protect the water resources in Central and Southwest Florida. During Flamingle Friday\, she will discuss natural resource policy issues and protective water quality standards that can help further protect the area’s resources and quality of life. \nThe Flamingle Friday lecture is $20 for Everglades Wonder Gardens members and $25 for nonmembers. To register and for more information\, contact the Everglades Wonder Gardens at 239-992-2591. The Flamingle Fridays event series features a rotating schedule of lecture topics at the Wonder Gardens. \nA cultural icon and designated historic resource of the City of Bonita Springs for more than 80 years\, the Everglades Wonder Gardens is a community centerpiece that has provided generations of Floridians and visitors the opportunity to experience rare and exotic plants and wildlife. \nIn 2014\, Bonita Wonder Gardens\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to purchase and operate the Everglades Wonder Gardens. While preserving the iconic attraction\, the nonprofit organization is in the process of restoring wildlife enclosures\, nurturing the botanical beauty of the property\, adding education programs and further enhancing this Bonita Springs jewel. \nFor more information\, visit www.evergladeswondergardens.com.
