Naples Classical Academy Inaugural Gala Fundraiser
May 15 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm$150
Guests will experience a sparkling evening of boots, denim and bling at Naples Classical Academy’s inaugural “Denim & Diamonds” gala on Saturday, May 15, at Destiny Tabernacle, 10610 Immokalee Road, Naples.
The fundraising gala event will kick off with a reception and silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m. The featured guest speaker is Congressman Madison Cawthorn, who will deliver an inspirational message on two of Naples Classical’s pillars of virtue: courage and perseverance in the face of major adversity. The youngest member of Congress, he was elected to serve North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District in 2020.
Guests will enjoy fine BBQ by Herb’s Catering, foot-stomping tunes by DJ Gil Blake, line dancing by Dance the Line Ivy G, and fun and laughs by Naples Photo Booths.
Individual tickets are available for $150, tickets for two are $275, and a table for eight is $1,100. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, starting at $1,000. For more information or to purchase a ticket, visit NaplesClassical.org/gala.
Proceeds from the gala will go towards funding Naples Classical’s capital expenses, such as buildings and physical inventory, along with assisting in hiring excellent teachers and staff with competitive pay scales and purchasing curriculum supplies and other school expenses. Both personal and corporate donations to Naples Classical Academy are tax deductible, greatly needed and appreciated.
While Naples Classical receives an allocation of state dollars for each student, this funding is only a portion of the amount that district-run schools receive. To account for the $2,000-$3,000 gap per student, Naples Classical must fundraise.
Scheduled to open in August for the 2021-22 school year, Naples Classical Academy is a new tuition-free classical curriculum K-12 charter school at 10270 Immokalee Road, just east of Collier Boulevard in North Naples.
Naples Classical Academy is a licensed user of the classical curriculum provided by the Hillsdale College Barney Charter School Initiative. The curriculum utilizes explicit phonics and grammar, classic literature, and the Socratic method of instruction, with a focus on moral character and civic virtue. Scholars study Spanish beginning in kindergarten and Latin starting in sixth grade. In addition to the four core academic areas, the school will also offer world languages, western civilization, music and visual arts. The high school curriculum incorporates government, economics and moral philosophy. High school scholars also receive college counseling and readiness preparation, along with opportunities for dual enrollment, and can participate in various extracurricular activities, including competitive sports and clubs.
