The Salvation Army of Collier County is inviting local businesses and organizations to join forces and #fightforgoodduring the 2019 holiday season.
We will be holding an informative business breakfast, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, August 14 at Harry Chapin Food Bank Collier County Center, 3940 Prospect Ave, Naples, FL 34104.
The discussion will include information about Toys for Tots, Angel Tree, Food Drives, and Red Kettles.
Attendees will hear from people whose lives have been significantly and positively impacted by The Salvation Army. Phil Wood, John R. Wood Properties CEO commented, “as supporters of The Salvation Army of Collier County for more than 30 years we encourage other business owners and individuals to commit to helping this wonderful organization meet and exceed its holiday goals. They provide vital services for those most in need. Many are hungry, in fear of losing their home and have nowhere else to turn.”
FEATURED SPEAKER
Collier County Public School’s District Liaison for the Homeless Education Program, Hemlal Kafle, MA.
In January 2018, the Hunger & Homeless Coalition of Collier County Point-in-time Count (PIT) reported: “The Collier County Public Schools’ Liaison for Homeless Education provides data to the Department of Education on the number of homeless students in Collier County. At the time period of the count, there were 1215 homeless students in the school system. Included in this count are children in “doubled-up” families, “couch surfing” unaccompanied youth, and children awaiting foster care placement. The number of unaccompanied youth (age 16 or older) was 265.”
