Open house at Amavida offers “Passport Around the World”
November 5, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Amavida, the Fort Myers active adult community developed by Quadrum Senior Living, is inviting the public to learn more about assisted living and memory care during a “Passport Around the World” event on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 3 to 7 p.m.
The open house-style event features a tour of The Vistas Assisted Living and The Meadows Memory Care, where guests will experience the sights, music, food and drinks of Polynesia, England, Spain, Italy, Japan and New York City and receive stamps in their passport to qualify for special prizes.
Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about Amavida’s Mild Cognitive Impairment program, a fresh and innovative approach developed especially for residents who do not need full memory care services. Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care Catherine Cruikshank-Eberle will identify the causes of MCI and its signs, including difficulties with judgement, thinking, communication and behavior.
“Residents in Amavida’s MCI program benefit from opportunities that support their individualized and unique needs,” said Cruikshank-Eberle. “We emphasize brain fitness to fuel enhanced cognition and communication, as well as physical fitness to stimulate health and support balance and overall wellness in our residents.”
RSVP is requested by Friday, Nov. 1 by calling 239-300-9775.
Amavida offers 300 independent living cottages and apartments, 125 assisted living apartments and 35 memory care apartments.
Through Dec. 31, new independent living residents can receive up to $600 per month off selected apartments that range from 616 to 1,054 square feet and offer up to two bedrooms and two baths.
A selection of assisted living and memory care apartments are also available to new residents, with a savings of $700 per month through the end of the year. Assisted living residences range from a 437-square-foot studio to a 790-square-foot apartment with a den. A 402-square-foot studio floor plan is offered for memory care residents.
Amavida – whose name translates to “a love of life” – boasts a resort vibe, rather than a traditional “retirement community” feel. At Amavida, people of all ages can remain as active as they want to, and the community provides plenty of ways for them to stay fit, connect with their neighbors, continue learning and enjoying life in Southwest Florida.
The various living choices provide residents with options should their health care needs change. A nursing team is also available to Amavida residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as an on-site pharmacy and medical clinic with robust services. In addition, Amavida’s idyllic location provides residents with close proximity to numerous medical facilities.
Conveniently located at 7650 Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers, between Summerlin Road and U.S. 41, community tours are available by walk-in or appointment. The Amavida Welcome Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit www.amavidaliving.com or call 239-237-0501 for additional community information.
