Yoga with the Flamingos Everglades Wonder Gardens
December 16, 2019 @ 8:00 am
An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on Friday, repeating until January 27, 2020
Everglades Wonder Gardens is now offering Yoga with the Flamingos classes Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 a.m. Attendees can perfect their eagle and heron poses in the Wonder Gardens’ tranquil setting, overlooking a flamboyance of flamingos.
Led by Susanna Lovett and Mary Cline, certified yoga instructors, acupressure practitioners, and licensed massage therapists, the 45-minute meditative yoga sessions will be held on the Everglades Wonder Gardens’ organic Zoysia grass lawn located next to the Flamingo Lagoon. Following each class, community tea will be offered in the newly opened Robert & Karin Moe Tea House.
“‘Yoga with the Flamingos’ is a rare opportunity to ‘experience the wonder’ before we open for the day to the general public,” said Thomas Hecker, president and CEO of Everglades Wonder Gardens. “Peafowl and other beautiful birds wander about and are always engaging with the yoga students, making for an immersive meditative class.”
The cost is $10 for Everglades Wonder Gardens members and $12 for nonmembers. Class attendees should bring their own mat. Space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to register early.

A cultural icon and designated historic resource of the City of Bonita Springs for more than 80 years, the Everglades Wonder Gardens is a community centerpiece that has provided generations of Floridians and visitors the opportunity to experience rare and exotic plants and wildlife.
In 2014, Bonita Wonder Gardens, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to purchase and operate the Everglades Wonder Gardens. While preserving the iconic attraction, the nonprofit organization is in the process of restoring wildlife enclosures, nurturing the botanical beauty of the property, adding education programs and further enhancing this Bonita Springs jewel.
