3 Places to Treat Dad for Father’s Day

0282

Give Dad a day off from the backyard grill and celebrate Father’s Day at a place serving something to suit his taste. If your father’s an oenophile who likes new experiences, book a table at the recently opened Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant in North Naples. The Cooper’s Hawk concept combines a large, upscale yet casual dining venue with a winery, complete with a Napa Valley–style tasting room. The modern space, with walls of wine and warm wood accents, pairs well with dishes like crispy crab beignets, gnocchi Bolognese with short rib, and house-made Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. Dishes are created to complement specific Cooper’s Hawk wines. The tasting room features monthly special selections and a gift shop.

What’s a more manly cuisine than authentic barbecue? Kansas City transplant Dave Higgins, a multi-award-winning pitmaster, has opened I Burnt Mine Barbecue in East Naples. You may need to treat Pop on Saturday, as the restaurant has not yet opened for Sunday hours. But he won’t mind, once he sinks his teeth into blue-ribbon pulled pork, baby back ribs, or a burnt-ends sandwich.

On June 19, sports-loving dads can catch the Bosox play the Mariners, White Sox versus the Indians, or just about any other MLB matchup that afternoon while chowing down on fan-favorite dishes at Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill in Naples. Killer B wings, handcrafted Wagyu burgers, Chicago-style dogs, and brewed-in-Florida craft beers are just right while watching a game on one of the ubiquitous big screens.
