Another exciting stop I was able to make during New York Fashion Week was a visit to the uber-cool Diane von Furstenberg showroom located right in the heart of the Meatpacking District. Amongst all the chaos of fashion week, there was a fresh air about the showroom with excitement over the new spring collection and addition of DVF’s new creative director Yvan Mispelaere. Upon seeing spring ready-to-wear, accessories, and upcoming swim collections, I can see what all the excitement is about. Termed “Goddess” the spring collection goes back to the roots of classic DVF with major prints and pops of bold colors. This time around the fabrics seem more luxe, the cuts more modern, and the accessories edited perfectly for day and night. I adore the bold mixed print looks and pant suits, both super wearable. And I love the idea of a bright lip used with all this color as showcased on the models during the runway show (inspired by the bold lip in Warhol’s famed DVF silkscreen). Upon leaving the showroom I was dreaming of an exotic weekend away, of course complete with these head-to-toe DVF pieces.
