A Naples holiday tradition will be getting a little Austrian influence this year when The von Trapps join the Naples Philharmonic for the annual Holiday Pops performance. Descendants of the Austrian von Trapp family who escaped the Nazis, moved to the United States and traveled the world singing, inspiring The Sound of Music, The von Trapps continue the musical tradition for another generation. The sisters and brother quartet will join guest conductor Stuart Chaftez, the Naples Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Chorus and Youth Chorus with director of choruses, James Cochran, and the Barron Collier and Gulf Coast high schools dance teams for four nights of yuletide cheer from December 18-21 at Artis—Naples’ Hayes Hall.
A concert the whole family can enjoy, the seasonal sing-along includes some of the most recognizable holiday music ever written, including “Joy to the World,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and much more.
- Tickets range $50-$98.
- Showtimes are as follows: December 18-19 at 8 p.m.; December 20 at 2 and 8 p.m.; and December 21 at 7 p.m.
