Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol

Just in time for Christmas, Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol takes the stage at the Norris Center in Cambier Park on December 6-21, continuing the Gulfshore Playhouse’s tenth season celebration. Though for this production, the professional theater troupe is putting a twist on a holiday favorite, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

In Dickens’ classic novella A Christmas Carol, Jacob Marley appears only as a ghost shackled in chains, warning poor old Ebenezer Scrooge that his wayward ways have him on a path for an eternity of unrest. In Tom Mula’s comedy Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, we see the behind-the-scenes machinations of Marley as he tries to save Scrooge’s soul from a similar fate. The play, immersed in fairytale, Dickens’ British sensibility and a dash of contemporary wit is a great addition to holiday festivities.

  • Cody Nickell will play all 18 roles in Gulfshore’s production of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol.
  • The Preview Performance scheduled on December 4 and 5 will cost $30.
  • Opening night tickets cost $60 and include post-performance cocktails with the stars.
  • Showtimes for the December 6-21 production are Tuesday through Friday, 8 p.m.; Saturday, 3 and 8 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m. (No shows are scheduled December 12-13).
