March Fun at Mercato

March in Mercato is a busy month. It kicks off with a huge art festival, followed by everything from nighttime street performances and music to lawn movies and Woofstock.

Catch a good case of the Chicago blues March 7, with a show featuring Little Eddie and the Fat Fingers. The swingin’ starts at 6 p.m. and doesn’t cost a thing.

On March 9 the sidewalks will fill up with all kinds of street performers, musicians and local artists in a walk-around art experience designed to get you in touch with Naples’ local talent. At 6 p.m. a pop-up gallery will showcase the works of artists Deborah Martin and Lunda Vanbibber, with free craft beer samples compliments of Naples Beach Brewery.

Surprise the kids March 19 and bring them to a movie on the lawn: Cats and Dogs. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.

Finally, the month’s finale March 24 is Woofstock. It’s an all-day music fest for people and pets starting at 11 a.m., with nonstop music by The Wholetones Danny Parkinson, and more. There will be an owner/pet look-alike contest, a best trick contest and a pet costume competition. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society Naples. Admission is $10 and free for children under 10.
