Marji-jito Recipe

 

Yabba Island Grill’s Marji-jito is Naples Mayor Bill Barnett’s pick for his “top shelf” drink of 2010. The competition was fierce in the Mayor’s Rum Crawl competition on Fifth Avenue South. Ten restaurants competed to win the “top shelf” spot, presenting their most creative rum drinks to the mayor and his fellow rum crawlers. Yabba Island Grill took first place with a refreshing cocktail called the Marji-jito. This half margarita and half mojito is made with Captain Morgan Parrot Bay passion fruit rum and Silver Tequila mixed with fresh citrus, mint and Azuna Organic Pure Weber Blue Agave Nectar. —Jenna Choate

 

Procedure

  • muddle orange, lime and mint
  • splash of simple syrup
  • add rum, tequila and nectar
  • shake 7-10 times
  • serve over ice with half salt, half sugar rim
