My Best-Dressed Emmy Picks

Go bold or go home. I’m normally a less-is-more type of girl when it comes to red carpet moments, however for last night’s Emmy awards it was all about the statement, a blue statement that is. The blue hue made a major impact on last night’s red carpet, whether in the form of classic navy or shades packed with punch, and both of my favorite Emmy red carpet ensembles featured it. Glee’s Lea Michele will no doubt be on many’s best dressed list looking radiant in Oscar de la Renta Resort 2011. This navy confection full of ruffles looked glamorous yet modern paired with dark nails and statement jewels from Lorraine Schwartz. My other favorite, January Jones, took more of a fashion risk (which I love), in a Versace gown complete with asymmetrical hemline and fitted bodice. To keep within the iconic vintage tone of Mad Men, Chanel Beauté makeup artist Rachel Goodwin was inspired by Irving Penn’s iconic photos of his wife/supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives, whose signature extended eyeliner symbolizes the epitome of elegance. She used ultra feminine colours with super sculptural liner for a cool update on that classic late 50’s
silhouette.
