David Contreras Jr., 2015 Super Man

On first visiting Naples in 1982, David Contreras recognized the unique splendor and put it on his list of places to revisit—then relocated to the city in 1999. As a connoisseur of fine wine and cigars, Contreras turned his passion into successful businesses, first opening Bacchus of Naples, a unique wine, cigar, and luxury gift shop, followed by his current venture, Bottles of Naples, a concierge online wine retail operation. In 2011, he was granted exclusive import rights for the wines of Granada in southern Spain. He is a member of numerous wine and food societies, including the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs (National), International Wine & Food Society, Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, and Society of Wine Educators. Contreras’ zeal for food, wine, and travel is matched by his generous nature. He has served on many local nonprofit boards, including Fun Time Early Childhood Academy; he was a trustee of the Southwest Florida Wine & Food Festival for three years; and he has contributed to several other organizations, including the Physician Led Access Network and Special Olympics.
