Anyone who has been to local charity events in recent years has likely seen the beautiful jewelry custom-designed by William Boyajian, owner of Port Royal Jewelers. The artist-goldsmith-gemologist, who has several degrees in jewelry design, creates unique pieces to raise money for seemingly endless nonprofits—from Make-A-Wish of Southern Florida, to Humane Society Naples, to Sunlight Home for unwed mothers, and more. He feels awed by the success of his jewelry donations at charity auctions, which sometimes raise more than triple the anticipated amount. Boyajian, a native Floridian and Naples High graduate, strongly believes in preserving the natural resources he grew up with in the community. He recently stepped up involvement with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, serving as chair of its 2016 Magic Under the Mangroves gala and on the board.
“I realized I could use my design talent to create one-of-a-kind custom jewelry pieces to reflect a charity’s theme and connection with their patrons and attendees.” |
