The Naples Botanical Garden will transform into a winter wonderland December 18 through January 5 (closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day) when the grounds are decorated with thousands of lights forming a backdrop for roaming live performances to delight visitors.
Each evening live performances by carolers, musical acts and musicians will add a festive tone to the gardens, while activities for children will have the kiddies fully amped for visits from Saint Nick and ringing in the new year. For an extra special evening, head to the garden on Sunday, December 22 for a performance of The Nutcracker by the Naples Ballet Company on the Water Garden Stage. The Naples Botanical Garden offers a truly enchanting setting for the ballet, with the ballerinas seemingly dancing on the water’s surface.
For the amateur astronomers out there, visit the garden on Saturday, January 4, when the Everglades Astronomical Society sets up shop for views of the waxing crescent lunar phase and some great opportunities to spy the Orion Nebula and Jupiter.
- Admission costs $15 for adults ($7 for members), $5 for children ($3 for members).
