When all you do is hamburgers and french fries, you have to master your product. Five Guys (239-261-5624) has taken the favorite American fare to a standard to which other burger joints aspire. Since the business began to franchise in 2002, it has grown to more than a thousand locations nationwide. Naples claims four of them. Okay, so you can order a hot dog or a grilled veggie, grilled cheese or BLT sandwich. But what’s the point? The burgers are just the right amount of juicy and come with 15 ways to customize—from hot sauce to grilled mushrooms. Only select potatoes make it to Five Guys kitchens, and potato-fryers go through special training.

Formerly Lindburgers, this family-run storefront near downtown sells more than a dozen varieties of beef burgers, but the menu stretches far beyond. You can also order Vienna-style foot-long hot dogs, salads and sandwiches. (naplesburgers.com, 239-262-1127)
