Best Steak
Capital Grille
The Capital Grille’s Sliced Filet Mignon |
This fine-dining franchise does its share of seafood, but steak is definitely Capital Grille’s forte (239-254-0640). Suave and sophisticated, the Mercato restaurant has the classic, clubby steak-house ambience down to an art form. As it does the preparation of the best possible, juiciest, most flavorful cut of beef imaginable. Capital Grille trims and dry ages in-house, a rare circumstance. Signature is the porcini-rubbed Delmonico steak with 15-year aged balsamic, perfectly seared in the kitchen’s infrared oven. The bone-in Kona coffee-crusted sirloin with shallot butter also headlines on a menu that boosts steak a notch above the rest.
Honorable Mention
Chops City Grill
Chops City Grill is a longtime favorite for sophisticated dining and contemporary fare in Naples and Bonita Springs. Its name is a double-entendre for its dual specialization in “chopstick” Asian cuisine and meat “chops.” (chopscitygrill.com, 239-262-4677)
