2015 marks the thirtieth anniversary of a Naples summer tradition: SummerJazz on the Gulf. One of Naples’ most anticipated summer events, the annual concert series transforms Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club’s Watkins Lawn into a rousing outdoor amphitheater for one night each month, June through September.
One of the most scenic concert spaces in Southwest Florida, overlooking the tranquil Gulf of Mexico, the final free concert of the series comes to the stage on September 19, with Late Night Brass playing through one of the most fabulous lightshows around: a Naples sunset. Saturday’s concert marks the group’s seventh consecutive year at SummerJazz, making them an apt closer for concert series’ banner year.
“We are very pleased to bring back three of our most popular SummerJazz bands in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the concert series, plus feature the very talented Danny Sinoff Band which is new to SummerJazz and which the audience will truly enjoy,” said Susan Savino, Director of Conference Services at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club and organizer of the annual concert series.
- The SummerJazz on the Gulf concert series takes place on Watkins Lawn from 7-10 p.m. Concertgoers can park north of resort at Lowdermilk Park, with free trolley service taking guests to and from the hotel. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets; food and drink are available for purchase from the hotel (no coolers please). Closing 2015’s SummerJazz festivities, Late Night Brass (below) is looking to blow the doors off the joint with their high-energy jazz/blues fusion on September 19. In the tradition of blues show bands—think Chicago or Earth Wind and Fire—LNB is 10 pieces of horn-driven brass with both male and female vocalists, making for a dynamic and exciting show with rock, blues, funk, and disco intermixing with traditional jazz and R&B standards. Celebrating ten years as a band, LNB’s concert to close this year’s SummerJazz on the Gulf is not to be missed.
