For those living under a rock, the big game, Super Bowl XLVIII is set to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 2. It’s gearing up to be a classic with the NFL’s number offense, the Denver Broncos, battling the league’s number one defense, the Seattle Seahawks. It’s estimated that more than 100 million riveted sets of eyeballs will tune into Fox to catch the matchup, with a large swath of the population joining together for Super Bowl parties, cookouts and all around football fun.
To get into the spirit, and because the Monday following the Super Bowl traditionally gets the most ‘sick day’ callouts then any other all year, we’re offering up a few tequila-heavy cocktails to celebrate. The following recipes, courtesy of Hornitos Plata and Sauza 901 Tequila, take on a different aspect of the game, from representing the teams’ home states to the halftime shuffle. Enjoy responsibly folks.
