#3 – Granted: The world is full of travel bags. But once in a while, you run into some that not only are well made, but also have an interesting backstory. Enter Koza.
What I like about these is, first and foremost, they are very high quality, so they travel well, even on those arduous long hauls. But beyond that, they are so stylish—in an inspired way. The patterns have ethnic and tribal undercurrents, because the designs are based on the Indian epic poem Mahabharata. The UK-based Koza‘s interpretation of the ancient book comes in the way of pattern and embellishment on both the textiles and hardware. Bags are made of cotton and linen fabric with unique embroidery patterns, leather accents and brass hardware. There is a cashmere line as well, made with yarn that has been spun, woven or knitted by hand by the Panchachuli Women Weavers of Kumaon, located in India’s Himalayan regions. Form, function and social responsibility: We’ve got a winner.
