Dr. DeWayne Lockhart is focused on transforming the way pain management is thought of. He and his wife Dr. Sharie Lockhart are the physician-founders of Art of Medicine Pain Specialists, LLC. With over 20 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Lockhart has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional care with a compassionate bedside manner. The services provided include interventional pain relief techniques, minimally invasive procedures and surgeries. The goal of Art of Medicine Pain Specialists is to improve the quality of life for patients, allowing them to get back to living life without thinking of pain or disability.

Dr. Lockhart’s commitment to excellence is backed by his rigorous education and training. He was a Georgia State Presidential Scholar graduating magna cum laude. He was an academic scholar at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He was one of 300 graduates in the world accepted into a U.S. neurosurgery program with his training at Loyola University. He followed this with an anesthesiology residency and a neuroanesthesia fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. At the nation’s top-ranked pain management program, the University of Miami, he was awarded Top Fellow Honors as chief fellow. He graduated as the No. 1 ranked pain management provider in the U.S. and is double board certified. Dr. Lockhart served as an assistant professor at the University of Miami, and trained in cancer pain management at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Lockhart wants to be known as a man that loves his community. He is an advocate for autism awareness, a former golf instructor for underprivileged children, and a pioneer for the First Tee program. He also enjoys helping through foundations that have an impact far beyond what he can accomplish alone. This is exemplified in supporting the annual NCH Ball and Winter Wine Festival.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Lockhart is a devoted family man. He shares his life with his wife, Dr. Sharie Lockhart, who together, are the proud parents of two sons, Grant and Roman. This perspective fuels his compassionate approach to medicine, reinforcing his belief that effective pain management can transform lives.
