Profile
Dr. Aihara serves as the medical director of Revitalize, a life-wellness center located in Fort Myers. With over 30 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Aihara possesses a diverse range of expertise, having specialized in general surgery, trauma/critical care, breast surgical oncology, surgical education, and metabolic medicine.
While her training in Western medicine was vital, Dr. Aihara saw the limitations of modern-day patient care. Modern medicine, or conventional medicine, often focuses on “downstream” diagnoses and treating symptoms rather than addressing the underlying causes of illnesses. This approach can neglect the real issues, the “upstream” problems, like inflammation and metabolic dysfunction, that contribute to many chronic illnesses that faced today. Drawing on her Japanese roots, she has customized traditional concepts of health and wellness and integrated them with the science of contemporary medicine. Dr. Aihara’s approach at Revitalize focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes through a “whole-istic” perspective, recognizing the interconnectedness of physical, emotional and mental wellbeing—commonly referred to as the trilogy. This integrative methodology incorporates nutrition, lifestyle modification, mindfulness, and stress management, with evidence-based therapies such as peptides, supplements, and hormone treatments to promote optimal wellness.
Revitalize represents a significant shift in today’s healthcare landscape, combining the scientific rigor of Western medicine with the timeless wisdom of Eastern traditions. In this context, it may be more appropriate to refer to modern day medicine as the “alternative medicine” as it increasingly provides evidence to support and validate the conventional or traditional treatments that have maintained human health for thousands of years. By embracing this integrative approach of West meets East, Dr. Aihara empowers individuals to break through conventional boundaries and become the best versions of themselves, changing the way they live life.
As Dr. Aihara says, “Perhaps our physical health can be regarded as a barometer of our inner wellbeing. Nourishing the mind and soul is equally important, if not more so, to our overall wellness.”
Let Revitalize help you discover your path to becoming the best version of yourself.
