Erik Hiester, DO, is a family practice physician with more than 19 years of experience taking care of patients with dedication, compassion, and the highest degree of medical excellence. He completed a residency program in Binghamton, New York, followed by a fellowship in interventional pain management at Emory Medical School. He also has a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami and worked as an engineer designing endovascular grafts prior to entering medical school. Dr. Hiester is dually boarded by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He has extensive research publications and previously was the president of the Broome County Medical society. He is currently clinical assistant professor of family medicine at the University of Central Florida Medical School and Nova Southeastern Osteopathic Medical School, and previously held the same teaching position at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Hiester also is an accomplished classical pianist and has a minor in piano performance at the University of Miami. When not taking care of patients, he enjoys spending time with his three sons and wife, also a family practice physician.
