Dr. Sacino’s path to Neurosurgery was shaped by both scientific curiosity and academic rigor. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors in biochemistry, molecular biology, and neurochemistry from Boston University, followed by an MD and PhD in neuroscience from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Her doctoral research in neurodegenerative disease was published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences under Nobel Laureate Dr. Stanley Prusiner, an early indicator of the caliber of work that would define her career.

She completed her neurosurgical residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, one of the nation’s most elite training programs, before pursuing two advanced fellowships in spine surgery. There, Dr. Sacino developed expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques, including early adoption of the Globus ExcelsiusGPS robotic platform, positioning her among a select group of surgeons nationally with extensive robotic experience.
