Farrell C. Tyson MD, FACS – Tyson Eye

Farrell C. Tyson MD, FACS, is a distinguished ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon known for clinical excellence and innovation. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University in biomedical engineering, he conducted early research in laser vision correction at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He received his medical degree from the University of South Florida and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Board-certified and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Tyson was among the first worldwide to adopt advanced technologies such as intraoperative wavefront measurements to enhance precision in cataract surgery. His philosophy at Tyson Eye reflects “modern technology with old-fashioned concern,” combining leading-edge innovations with personalized treatments.

Dr. Tyson is the medical director and CEO of Tyson Eye in Southwest Florida.
