“Small Wonders: Insects in Focus”
September 2, 2019
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until October 19, 2019
You don’t have to be downsized to get up close with insects thanks to the exhibit “Small Wonders: Insects in Focus,” on display at the Center for Visual Arts in Bonita Springs beginning September 2. Organized by ExhibitsUSA, this traveling photography show features images by Bob Sober, a Tulsa native who comes at the subject from an artistic perspective, creating human-scale photos of bugs that highlight their inherent beauty. Take the cottonwood borer, for example. While this beetle common in the Great Plains is viewed as a pest for its tendency to attack trees, it also boasts a striking black-and-white pattern reminiscent of a zebra. Visit the cottonwood borer and dozens of his friends at this free exhibition through October 19.
