Fashion week is most definitely all about the runway shows and presentations, but for me it was also having the opportunity to visit a few showrooms to re-see the SS11 collections up close, and visit with the press individuals who help make my job happen from day-to-day. “Re-see’s” provide an editor an intimate experience to view fabrics, colors, silhouettes and accessories that consist within a collection. These are most often the details that can be missed when a collection is viewed on a runway, so its always a treat when you get to revisit the entire collection up close. I was luckily enough to have the opportunity to re-see the Michael Kors SS11 collection, which couldn’t be more perfect for our luxury South Florida lifestyle.

The main tag line to the Michael Kors collection was “Sunshine State of Mind” and that’s exactly what was delivered. Bright burst of color inspired by nature (daffodil, zinnia, iris, grass) off-set with neutrals (white, pebble, hemp, sky) created the perfect look from beach life to the city. From chic one-piece swimsuits, shirtdresses, relaxed separates, and ideal day-to-night dresses, this collection offered something for anyone. These clothes were all about luxe done with effortless chic and a relaxed attitude in mind, perfect for care-free days beachside, après poolside cocktails, and easy-breezy summer nights. Sounds like a perfect Palm Beach statement to me.
