Craft beer fan? Get that fix for some artisanal brews at Naples Beach Brewery with its brewer-led tour and tasting of the facility on select weekends.
Opening its fermenting tanks in November 2012, Naples Beach Brewery is the first craft brewery to begin brewing in the Paradise Coast. And though relatively new to the scene, the brewery has already outgrown the 1,250-square-foot space Matt Lawson, owner and master brewer, is currently brewing out of. So this summer, the brewery has been literally experiencing “growing pains,” with a current expansion of an additional 4,500 square feet underway, with hopes to have the new digs up and running by October. The expansion will increase capacity nearly ten times, not only allowing Lawson to slake the thirsty demand for his beer from Everglades City to Fort Myers, but expand into new markets, including bottled beer and a new taproom for customers to come an enjoy a fresh-brewed beer.
For now, tasting tours are on a more limited schedule, with just one per week or various weeks. Six beers are readily available for customers to sample while Lawson walks them through the brewing process, fielding any questions from burgeoning home brewers. Following the flight tasting – 2 oz. beer samples – tour-goers then get two full pulls of their favorite brew.
