Celebrate National Ice Cream Day with Royal Scoop

Royal Scoop - Lemon Berry Breeze Sherbet - July Flavor of the MonthIf you are a Neapolitan and love ice cream, it is almost a given you have had a scoop of Royal Scoop. The Bonita Springs staple has been scooping cones, splits, sundaes, shakes, and the like for more than 30 years (21 years by owners David and Sarah Zimmerman), cooling Southwest Florida with more than 40 flavors of ice cream, yogurt and sorbet. Made on-site, the flavors are limited only to the Zimmermans’ imagination, which is vast and sweet centric, coming up with unique flavors and amazing sundae concoctions monthly. Case in point, July’s flavor of the month, Lemon Berry Breeze Sherbet (right), a combination of blueberry and lemon sherbets, mixed with a strawberries throughout. Even better, Bonita Springs voted for the official ice cream of 2015, landing on the Bonita Beach Bum. This creamy coconut ice cream is loaded with chocolate chunks, almonds, and a sweet caramel swirl—it’s the ultimate summer beach accessory.

For those who have not been to Royal Scoop’s Bonita Springs headquarters, you should go, the banana split is like a giant, delicious ice cream vitamin, and the sundaes, well, lets just say they’ll have you breaking whatever diet you happen to be on. But if you can’t make it to the Bonita Springs ice cream mecca, have no fear; the good folks at Royal Scoop churn out more than 50,000 gallons of the sweet stuff each year, delivering to scooperies allover the Paradise Coast.
