Earth Day falls on Wednesday, April 22, this year, but don’t let the mid-week date stop you from participating. Local events can be found throughout the month. Check out these local programs to honor and celebrate our world.
Cinema Sunday at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida screens The Blue Planet April 12. Admission is free to Conservancy members and included in general admission rates for nonmembers; popcorn is free for everyone.
Earth Day Festival at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida is April 18, and will feature live music, boat rides, live animal programs and free T-shirts to the first 50 guests.
Earth Day films will be shown all day April 22, at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Spend the day visiting the reserve and watching flicks that celebrate the planet with a friend—admission is buy one, get one free.
