Back by popular demand, BaconFest Naples is bringing in an array of the salty, savory breakfast side for a daylong bacchanal on Saturday, November 14. Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Pelican Bay and the Naples Municipal Airport, the event uses bacon as a way to bring the community together, while sampling (you guessed it) all things bacon, listen to live music, and give the kids a chance to wild-out at the bounce house play zone.
For those with a hearty appetite—and a doctor’s note—there will be a bacon eating contest for kids, juniors, and adults. Think you can scarf down two pounds of bacon (one pound for the under 18 set)? Sign up for the cholesterol-drenched contest and see if you have what it takes ($20 for adults, $15 for 13-17 year olds, $10 for kids 8-12).
For those who like to consume their bacon at a more leisurely pace, explore the bacon-infused culinary treats from the festival’s vendors. With 20 drink and food vendors set to attend the party, the bacony treats are sure to tantalize. From artisanally cured bacon and bacon jams to traditional offerings like bacon burgers and barbecue, the dining options are as inventive as they are delicious. To help decide who makes the best bacon-themed bacon, a celebrity judge panel that includes Robyn Almodovar of Chopped and Derrick Peltz of MasterChef will determine who does what best.
- BaconFest Naples will be setting up shop at the Naples Municpal Airport’s South Terminal Lawn from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, November 14. Tickets cost $15 for general admission ($10 in advance).
