Margaritas from The Ritz-Carlton, Cancún

Nothing says tropical paradise quite like a frozen maragrita on sandy beach. And in the heart of the Mayan Riviera, nothing quite says luxury like The Ritz-Carlton, Cancún. Here, the luxe resort and Chef Rory Dunaway shares their recipe for a seaside sip not to be missed, margaritas!

 

Maragritas

  margarita recipe from The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun Serves 4

   Preparation Time: 5 minutes

  • 1 cup tequila, reposado
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur, controy (Cointreau)
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. lime zest, finely grated
  • 2/3 cup sugar

Garnish:

  • ¼ cup coarse sea salt
  • 1 each lime wedge

Mix all ingredients in a blender with ice except items used for garnish; blend until smooth. Spread salt on a small dish. Rub the rim of four glasses with the cut side of a lime wedge and dip each glass rim in the salt, shake off excess. Add margarita mixture to glass, decorate with lime wedge and serve.
