While Naples still has a few years to go before it shakes off its winter-resort reputation, more and more people are becoming year-round residents. During the off-season of summer, these lucky locals have the opportunity to experience shorter wait times to be seated in popular restaurants and great dining deals such as prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus.
Here are some of our favorite picks from around town:
If you and your significant other are craving Asian fare, head over to AZN. Their summer couples promotion runs through the end of September and features a $30 menu and a $40 menu. Their $30 menu includes your choice of soup or house salad, two entrees, and a bottle of Coastal Vines Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay. If you’re searching for sushi, their $40 menu includes your choice of cucumber or wakame salad, two sushi rolls (pick from blue crab and tuna, shrimp tempura, or the spicier tuna or hot firecracker), and two bottles of sake or wine.
The Bonefish Grill’sHooked-on-Tuesday special includes three courses starting at $14.90. You start by picking either a classic Caesar salad or the Bonefish house salad, continue on to your choice of nine different entrees including Ahi Tuna Steak, a Fontina Pork Chop, or pecan parmesan crusted rainbow trout, and then grab a dessert (we recommend Jen’s Jamaican Coconut Pie). Craving shrimp? The restaurant’s Bang Wednesdays promotion features its signature appetizer, Bang Bang Shrimp, for just $6 every Wednesday night.
Summer specials abound over at the D’Amico family of restaurants. Café Lurcat features $5 beer, wine and appetizers during happy hour from 4-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close every day, and is also offering a 3-course, early-evening dinner menu for $26.95. Sunday date nights get all the sweeter with a 3-course dinner for $50 per couple, and Mondays include a 3-course, prix fixe menu for $35. Finally, wine bottles are half price on Wednesdays. At Ridgway Bar & Grill, choose an appetizer, entrée and dessert for $35. Our picks? Try the coarse duck pate crostini, the pan-roasted Florida pink shrimp (with the accompanying sweet corn grits cake and fried green tomato, it’s as good a Southern dish as you’re going to get), and finish on a sweet note with a bite of tartness – their key lime tart is topped with sweet cream.
Sea Salt’sSunset Menu offers a three-course meal for $29.95 from 5-7 p.m. The first course includes an arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette or crispy shrimp in a spice truffle pepperoncino sauce, while the second course can be chosen from rigatoni with kobe beef ragu bolognese or swordfish complete with a creamy parmesan polenta. Top it off with the chef’s choice of sorbet or a creamy creme brulee.
