With school in full swing, the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is opening the doors for a Toddler Takeover through Friday, August 21. Ideal for kids ages 2-5, children (and adult) will explore the world of art appreciation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Learn about color, shape, line, and texture with fun, hands-on activities, all designed to educate and entertain.
Activities will center on a different theme each day (except Wednesday when the museum will be closed). On Tuesday, August 19, C’MON’s Toddler Takeover will hone in on seeing shapes. On Thursday, August 20, activities will explore the line, and on Friday, August 21, its all about testing texture.
Following the art appreciation activities, take a stroll over to C’MON’s current traveling exhibition, “Sonic Sensation.” Developed by the Ithaca Sciencenter and on display through September 11, this traveling exhibit explores the science of sound and hearing, From experimenting with pitch and measuring frequency, to testing one’s own hearing, and playing mystery match sound games and a game of hide-and-seek, sound-style, there are plenty of hands-on activities that will have your toddler becoming better listeners.
“Word Up!” On Saturday, August 22, C’MON will be honing its vocabulary when PBS’s beloved vocab character,”Word Girl,” comes to town. Presented by WGCU, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Word Girl will have an ear to the crowd for some for some choice vocabulary on her mission to save the city, using words as her guide.
- Admission to C’MON costs $10 per person (both children and adults). For more information, visit cmon.org.
