Chef Asif Syed of 21 Spices continues his series of cooking classes on Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m. with an exploration of the diverse flavors of Indian cuisine.
Syed, who has appeared on many nationally televised cooking shows and has cooked at the James Beard house in Manhattan, was one of the pioneers in bringing authentic Indian cooking to Naples. Using the freshest seasonal ingredients, he takes diners on a culinary journey that encompasses tandoori dishes, chutneys, and an assortment of naan (breads). As an instructor as well as a chef, he has trained over 100 culinary interns and professionals and encouraged them to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.
Guests can experience Chef Syed’s hands-on technique as he creates the following menu:
Chicken Puff Pastry
Vegetable Biryani with Cucumber Raita
Carrot and Almond Pudding
The cost is $60 per person; classes last between 2-3 hours. At the end of the instruction, guests will enjoy a three-course lunch and have the recipes to take home. For reservations or more information, contact the restaurant at 239-919-8830.
